Tell your state senator we want more solar, not less

Thousands of Ohioans have made significant investments in solar on their homes and businesses. But a dangerous piece of legislation is being considered by the State Senate that could negate this positive impact.

H.B. 114 would harm Ohio's ability to go solar by making the state's Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) voluntary. This bill would inhibit Ohioans' ability to choose where our electricity comes from and cause our state to fall behind in renewable energy job creation. H.B. 114 will increase costs for existing solar owners and discourage solar investment throughout Ohio. All this at a time when employers looking to locate in the state are demanding stable clean energy policies.

The Ohio House of Representatives passed House Bill 114 last spring. It is now under consideration in an Ohio Senate committee. Solar producers and all Ohioans who care about jobs and clean energy must again speak against this bill. Ohio remains the only state to have gone backwards on its RPS standard. Let's not let it happen again.

Urge your State Senator to oppose H.B. 114. They need to hear that we oppose attempts to reduce the RPS standard - a threat to our solar rights and good Ohio jobs.
