Don't Slash Military Health Care!

When the men and women of this country committed themselves to military service, they were promised a lifetime of health care benefits. Now, a budget fight in Congress threatens military retirees' health care, making it that much more difficult for our veterans to make a doctor's appointment.

The military's health care program, TRICARE, has a flawed payment system that negatively impacts our military members. Military patients have been waiting for a solution, but the sustainable growth rate (SGR) formula stands in the way.

Congress shouldn't make it harder for military members, veterans, and their families to find a doctor. Military members protected our country, now it's time for us to protect their health care coverage.

Limiting health care access for our military and veterans is not the answer. Repeal the SGR and protect soldiers' access to health care.
Greetings,

We need to stop the budget games and fix TRICARE's flawed payment system to preserve military patients' access to vital services. In an election year with a limited number of legislative days remaining, Congress must act now!

For too long patients have been left wondering if Congress will address the flawed sustainable growth rate (SGR) formula. Consistently passing temporary patches, with the threat of future cuts, leads to uncertainty for patients who rely on important health care programs like TRICARE. Failure to act only makes future cuts steeper and escalates the costs of permanent payment reform. This is not fiscally responsible.

It is time to move to a more stable Medicare physician payment system that provides security for Uniformed Service members, retirees and their families seeking access to care, and the physicians who care for them. The least we can afford to do for those who have so selflessly served their country is protect their health coverage upon their return.

Think of the heroes who have so bravely served, it is time to serve them. Repeal SGR.

Sincerely,
