Take Action for Clean Air and Clean Energy in Connecticut!

The owners of the Bridgeport coal-fired power plant, PSEG, applied to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) to renew their Title V operating permit, which would allow them to continue polluting the air we breathe. DEEP is accepting public comments on the Bridgeport coal plants permit and pollution, giving us an opportunity to speak out for clean air and clean energy for Connecticut.

We have until May 21st to let our voices be heard to tell them to stop polluting in our backyard.

Send a message to DEEP and Governor Malloy, urging them to retire the coal plant and invest in a renewable energy future.
Subject: Deny Bridgeport's Title V Operating Permit

Dear Commissioner Esty & Governor Malloy,

PSEG's Title V permit application for the Bridgeport Harbor Station is inadequate and would allow the plant to continue to pollute our community at unacceptable levels. DEEP needs to safeguard our health by denying this permit and not allowing PSEG to continue polluting our community for another 5 years. The Bridgeport coal plant produces a host of serious, life-threatening health problems for our families and communities, inflicting children with asthma, stifling childhood development and cutting short thousands of lives . Rather than continuing to operate this old, dirty plant, PSEG and DEEP should invest in clean energy solutions for Bridgeport, and for Connecticut, that will create jobs, support our state's economy, and protect our health.
