Support Research To Save Children Like Tilly Who Have Brain Cancer

Four-year-old Matilda — affectionately known as Tilly — has a brain tumour. If it continues to grow, she could die.

In thirty years, there has been little improvement in the survival rate for people with brain cancer. Often, the location of the cancer makes it hard to treat, and the risk of damaging the brain is high. In fact, brain cancer kills more children than any other disease.

An exciting new initiative aims to change this. The Centre for Child and Adolescent Brain Cancer Research is a collaboration of world-leading researchers, clinicians and facilities that is opening the door to exciting new discoveries in treating brain cancer. It will help researchers to find new ways to diagnose and treat brain cancer, and to improve the quality of life after treatment.

Dr. Tim Hassall is Tilly's oncologist, and a Program Director for this exciting new research centre. He says, "Too many times I've had to tell a parent that there's nothing more I can do. This Centre brings us hope of finding an answer — and hopefully, a cure. I owe that to my patients and their families."

For kids like Tilly, time is precious. Add your name today to support the Children's Hospital Foundation and kids fighting brain cancer.
