Justice for Simon: Tell United Airlines to Update Its Pet Travel Policies!

Earlier this month, a 10-month-old giant rabbit named Simon traveled on a United Airlines flight from the United Kingdom to Chicago O’Hare International Airport. Hours before the flight, Simon had been declared “in good physical condition” and fit to travel by a veterinarian. When the plane landed, Simon was discovered dead.

Tell United Airlines to review and update its PetSafe travel policies to keep animals safe!

According to the Chicago Tribune, United Airlines had the second most animal deaths and injuries of any U.S. airline last year. The airline reported nine deaths and 14 injuries -- that's a total of 23 incidents. These were the highest figures for each category among U.S. carriers. Clearly something is wrong with the airline’s handling of pets.

Following Simon’s untimely death, United released a statement saying that the “well-being of all the animals that travel with us is of the utmost importance to United Airlines and our PetSafe team.” United needs to stand by this statement by making improvements in order to keep animals safe and alive.

Please sign this petition demanding that United Airlines have an independent animal welfare organization review its pet travel policies and make appropriate updates!
