Tell Obama: Protect Colorado Forests

The Obama administration is proposing a new policy to manage Colorado's 4.4 million acres of roadless national forests. Unfortunately, the administration's proposal falls short, giving less than 13 percent of forests the protection they deserve and leaving the rest vulnerable to drilling, mining and other industrial development.

Colorado's national forests are an irreplaceable resource that provides important wildlife habitat, clean drinking water and unparalleled opportunities for outdoor recreation.

Please tell President Obama: Colorado deserves more. Ask him to expand top tier protections for Colorado roadless national forests to fully protect wildlife, water and outdoor recreation.
Dear President Obama,

Colorado's 4.4 million acres of undeveloped national forests are an irreplaceable treasure, protecting valuable water resources and wildlife habitat and providing world-class opportunities to experience the great outdoors.

But the administration's new proposal falls short. It gives less than 13 percent of the state's best backcountry protection it deserves, leaving the remainder more vulnerable to new road-building, drilling and development.

Colorado deserves more! Give top tier protection to all of Colorado's undeveloped national forests, so that the water, wildlife and other bounty of our state will be preserved.
