Illinois' children deserve better! Tell Bruce Rauner to do his job.

This week, Bruce Rauner is being asked to pass a budget to support Illinois - and so far, there is no sign that he is going to stand up for the people he represents and do his job.

Today I met with my friend Merri Ex, the President and CEO at Family Focus. Family Focus has been providing Illinois families with childcare services for over 40 years. However, due to the budget crisis, 71% of their staff is being let go. Up to 17,000 Illinois families could be hurt annually by these cuts.

Bruce Rauner thinks that not passing a budget is causing "short term" pain for the people of Illinois.

I'm here to tell you that is not true. These are children we are talking about. You cannot unhurt a child. You can't redo childhood.

The detrimental impact for Family Focus is heartbreaking - and this is just ONE organization.
