This May many of us will celebrate Mother's Day in any number of small but meaningful ways. Whether it's flowers, a nice meal, or a well-deserved day of rest, it's an important time to remember the mothers in our lives and how hard they work to love and support us.

There are few emotions as powerful as love, and few bonds as strong as that of a mother and her child.

But while every mother's job is as difficult as it is rewarding, for too many women around the world poverty and limited resources mean they face an uphill battle to adequately provide for their children.

Motherhood is challenging enough without fearing your child will have their bright future cut short by hunger, preventable disease, or a lack of education.

Right now Plan Canada is working with mothers around the world to give them access to the resources, education, and support they need to keep their families happy and healthy. But they cannot do it alone!
