This petition is in the name of Skippy Abbamonte, the absolute love of my life, who passed away from complications due to pancreatitis. Many beloved pets die from this horrible disease and unfortunately there isn't a cure and the signs are extremely hard to see. But if caught early your pet may survive it!!!
With this petition I want to make people aware of the disease and some of it's signs & symptoms so that other owners do not have to go through the heartache and horror that I went through.
There are very few symptoms but possible indicative symptoms of pancreatitis are vomiting, lethargy, appetite loss, diarrhea, painful abdomen, fever.IF YOUR PET DISPLAYS ANY OF THESE SYMPTOMS DO NOT GIVE HIM/HER ANY FOOD OR WATER, AND IMMEDIATELY TAKE HIM/HER TO THE VET!!! Most deaths from this occur because food has been given to pets who have this, stimulation of the pancreas during this disease is deadly...
Pancreatitis is an inflammation of the pancreas, where the pancreas is literally eating itself. There is no cure and it can be difficult to treat. EARLY TREATMENT IS KEY - IT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIFE AND DEATH FOR YOUR PET!
I want people to be aware that this disease exists and that that it could be dangerous. My world ended when my Skippy passed away and I don't wish that upon anyone, please be aware of this and if you suspect that your dog/cat has this please don't hesitate to take them to the vet.
I didn't hesitate taking Skippy to the vet, but I still blame myself everyday. I had no idea that this could happen to my beloved 7 1/2 year old baby and I watched as my little Skippy crossed the Rainbow Bridge to Heaven...
