Need all your people on here to help this family.

Let me introduce myself, my name is Indy. On my birth certificate I am called Snow Nose in Indian Summer. I am a purebred Siberian husky lady. I was born on August 22nd 2002, by the time I was four years old I already had 4 different owners. No one really cared for me, the last owner I had I was left tied up outside the home near a busy road, in the middle of summer with no water and the sun blazing down.

Every day I saw this lady walking by looking at me and talking to me, actually in the end I looked forward to seeing her. Then one day the lady walked past without saying a word she gave me a determined look and you could tell she was on a mission no matter what the outcome. The lady knocked on my owners door, my owner answered , and both women started a talking for quite a while, then the Lady with the determined look , started untying me from the tree and said; “Lets go home.”

My first thought was! Not again another home. I found out my new owners name was Ziggy, She was blond well spoken, with a slight accent. All the way home she spoke and reassured me, everything is going to be ok.

After arriving at my new home the first thing I did was lose control of my bladder and peed on my new owner’s floor more then a few times. I was so afraid of what my punishment would be that I found the smallest corner I could find to hide away. But my punishment never came. Ziggy got a cloth and went on her hands and knees on the floor and cleaned it all up, then she crawled towards me I was shaking, she stroked my head and said “no need to be afraid” she then got up and carried on with the things she had to do.

Ziggy also has two boys age 14 and 12, both of them always stayed away from me, I guess they were afraid of my teeth and the way I looked because my markings are just like a wolf. My new owner looked after me and I started trusting her and the boys. She took me for long walks, I was never tied up outside, and I was allowed to walk in and out of the house freely and even slept on the bed. The two amazing things that Ziggy ever did for me was, I was afraid to eat and everyday that went past she sat on the floor with me feeding me each piece of dog kibble by hand, or she cooked me rice with chicken. She researched everything that she needed to know about huskys on her computer. To cut a long story short, this is the best home I have ever had since I was born.

I learned how to trust again, how to eat my own food and most of all I got my voice back in the last six months, because Ziggy taught me how to howl. She found a husky on U-Tube that was howling happy birthday and she played it for me each day for an hour until I finally remembered that I was a husky and huskies howl. I trust Ziggy and she trusts me, we have this awesome relationship, words sometimes do not need to be spoken, I know when she is sad and I get up close to her and nuzzle up against her and she hugs me and strokes me. Even when we go out for a walk during the day I have to go on the leash but Oh boy do I look forward to 11pm every night when the streets are quiet and there are not many cars around, she lets me off the leash and I walk proudly beside her with my tail up high and my ears pricked up without fear. The way I show Ziggy respect and show her that she can trust me is when we come to a crossing and I am a few feet in fronI will stop until she tells me that it is ok for me to cross over. She never trained me to do so that is just a mutual respect that we have for each other. She loves me and I love her.

The reason I am telling you all of this is my owner Ziggy and her boys need help and now they need to be rescued. Ziggy has been to every political organization that can help her to keep us all together but the doors have been slammed in her face. She is not allowed to work over here in Canada because her landed immigrant status was denied. The man she married 3 years ago lied to her from the start telling her that he had a job with the Toronto Argonauts, not only did she believe it but so did half of the neighbourhood. He left her and the boys 4 weeks ago without paying the rent or any of the bills. Ziggy had to sell most of her belongings so that she could provide food for me and the children. Two of her neighbours on either side of the street, has helped our family out and provided food for me and the boys.

Ziggy goes out and cleans peoples houses when she has the chance, and her payment is in Value Mart food vouchers, because she know that if she took money she would be breaking the law here in Canada. She is struggling every day to keep us together, she has faith in god and many times I have heard her say “ my miracle is coming because I prayed to god, I just have to wait for his timing.” A few days ago a man knocked on her door saying that he was hungry and did she have any spare change for him. Ziggy did not have any money but gave him the last ten dollar Value Mart certificate that she had left to feed us with. One of her neighbours after witnessing this, said to Ziggy “ you need it more than him,” but she replyed with a smile “perhaps, but also it could have been Jesus and I just helped.” This is the kind of person my owner is, always placing others peoples needs before hers. So I am asking all of my four legged friends to look at your owners and talk to them and ask them for any donations to keep a roof over our heads or any other kind of help you can give. Food and clothes, for 14 and 16 year old boys, and food for me. This is written by a friend of my owner looking through a Siberian huskies eyes. Please help  us  to stay together. I am tired of new owners and she deserves a  break.
