It did not need to be this bad!
The rush to reopen without a national, comprehensive plan to deal with COVID '19, created a resurgence of infections and casualties.
In February, I wrote: "The Administration is not taking seriously the dangers of COVID '19". I urge all leaders to launch: "An urgent call for leadership, and a comprehensive national plan, to combat the spread of COVID '19".
I contacted Governors, Senators, Congressional leaders, associations, societies, and stated: "The only way to implement a safe, scalable reopening will occur when we assure the nation with evidence of declining rates of infections, casualties and a mastering of protocols".
In congressional testimony, Dr. Anthony Fauci said
"Parts of the U.S. are beginning to see a "disturbing surge" in coronavirus infections."
Today, Monday, 6/29/20, the US has the largest number of cases and deaths, among the 188 + nations affected. We have 2,545,250 cases of infection and 126,369 dead, which is a 5% mortality rate.
We need facts not fiction, truth not lies. The lack of national leadership, caused delays in containing the pandemic.
The only way to implement a safe reopening of the economy will occur when we reassure the nation with evidence of a reduced rates of infections/casualties and mastering of protocols. We need testing, contact tracing, treatment, mitigation, isolation. Thank you.
