Florida -- Don't Put Prayer in Schools!

Right now, students are allowed to pray to themselves or in small groups. But in Florida, some believe that isn't enough -- Senate Bill 98 would allow prayers at student assemblies.

Students would be able to vote on whether or not to have prayers at these events such as graduation. Since Christians are the majority, this could easily alienate and offend those that are non-believers or come from different religious backgrounds.

This would be especially true for prayers that those opposed said could be in mandatory student assemblies or even in classrooms, forcing some students to listen to the prayers or be ostracized by their classmates.

This is a violation of the Establishment Clause in the Constitution and violates our religious rights. Please tell the Florida Government to drop this bill and keep prayer out of schools!

Dear Florida Government,

Please drop Senate Bill 98 that would allow prayer in public school student assemblies. Prayer doesn't belong in schools, as it is a violation of the Establishment Clause in the Constitution and violates our religious rights as American citizens.

Passing this bill would leave those that are not Christian -- the religious majority -- feeling alienated and ostracized, especially at student assemblies that are mandatory like graduation.
