Harper can easily win because the opposition Bloc, Green, Liberal, and NDP parties are competing with each other in about 60 swing ridings listed at catch22campaign.ca, splitting the opposition vote and allowing Conservative wins with less than 40% of the popular vote.
Harper has won the past two elections because he was cunning enough to "unite the right" with a coalition to prevent right-wing vote splitting.
To defeat Harper's attempt at dictatorship (his description) please:
- Petition Canadian opposition parties to cooperate in swing ridings urging their supporters to vote for the opposition candidate who can win,
- Power Vote in the swing ridings; vote only for the candidate who can beat the Conservative,
- Urge everyone to spread the word, then Power Vote!
If you don't live in a swing riding, vote your personal preference...
We, the undersigned, respectfully urge you to note that a Conservative majority in the May 2 Canadian election would be catastrophic for our jobs, standard of living, health care, democracy, human rights and the environment, and urge you to cooperate with other opposition parties to win more seats.
Otherwise, Stephen Harper can easily win because you opposition parties - Bloc, Green, Liberal, and NDP - are competing with each other in about 60 swing ridings listed at www.catch22campaign.ca, splitting your opposition votes and allowing Conservative wins with less than 40% of the popular vote.
Harper won the past two elections because he was cunning enough to "unite the right" with a coalition to prevent right-wing vote splitting. It would have been easier for you to have withdrawn candidates who can not win before the deadline. Now, you can win more seats only by cooperating with the opposition parties; by jointly promoting only the strongest contender in each swing riding.
To defeat Harper's attempt at dictatorship (his description) please therefore agree to cooperate with the opposition parties by convincing your weaker candidates to gallantly urge their supporters to vote only for the candidate who can defeat the Conservative. The 2008 General Election Results, from www.catch22campaign.ca below, show that the NDP and Liberals split the vote, defeating themselves and ensuring Conservative victories over both.

Benefits for your party include increasing the number of seats that you hold, forming the Government, and preventing Harper from cutting your per-vote election funding.
We suggest that candidates in each swing riding make joint announcements explaining this winning strategy to their supporters, and urging them to Power Vote - Vote for the leading opposition candidate.
