The current civil code in Placentia Regarding Garage Sales is unjust and unfair. Especially in the economy we are in. People are losing their jobs, income and homes. In this economy there is sometimes needs outside the regulated code for people to either raise money to live on , and/or liquidate their household items due to financial difficulties. People are getting the house foreclosed on and need the money. The new code serves no purpose to help those in need. Tax paying people who choose to have garage sale should be allowed to have them on the weekends including Fridays if the need arises. The majority of them are family garage sales. Also it feels the need of people with low income to afford thing such as clothes, furniture act. I do feel through the repeat every weakened and people who sale bulk new merchandise should be regulated, but as I said the majority are families in need of money. Some so financially troubled they cant wait for your civil code dates. We ask that you please reconsider you decision along with this petition.
