My appeal to the PM, President, Interior Minister and my fellow citizens of India

Attn: To the PM, President, Interior Minister and my fellow citizens of India

I am an honest and law abiding citizen of India. I appeal to all of you to help me and guide me to solve my crisis, which is NOT in my hands.

My wife is a Pakistani citizen and we are married for the past 17 years. I have 2 children, holding Indian passport and citizenship by birth. I am working and living with my family in Gulf for the past 17 years. Now, i want to return and get settled peacefully in my hometown in Tamil Nadu, India.

In the past 17 years, my wife had visited my home in India, only 2 times whereas i have never visited Pakistan any time in my life, so far. I have published my story in detail at the following link.

http://alamsha.sulekha.com/blog/post/2009/02/my-indo-pak-family-my-story-i-am-a-tragedy.htm

I have sent few emails to the Indian embassy and Consular office requesting them to guide me on this regards. So far, i did not get any reply.  The Indian embassy website does not provide any clear procedure or guidance on this regard either.

My fear and questions :

Is it possible for me to settle with my family in India, without changing my wife's Pakistani nationality?. She will never change it and i have no right even to talk about that. She has the right to love her nation as much as i do. But we love both India and Pakisan.

My constitution does not prohibit marriages between Indian and Pakistani nationals.

I am the bread winner of my family. My constitution does not say that the wife of an Indian national, holding Pakistani passport can NOT live in India with her husband.

I am afraid that because my wife is a Pakistani citizen, i am more vulnerable to suspicion, interrogation and harassment by security agencies than any other citizen who has married any other foreign national and living in India.

I am afraid that my civil liberties and fundamental rights are jeopardised because i chose to marry whom i like, a Pakistani citizen in this case?.

Can you guarantee that my fears are unfounded and i can live without fear, work, pursue my profession, serve my nation and continue with my daily life like any other citizen because my constitution guarantees freedom to marry whom i want ?

How can i convince my entire nation that i am a 100% honest, trustworthy and law abiding citizen of India ?.

" As an Indian citizen, i appeal to my PM, President and the Ministry of Interior to issue me a certificate from your offices saying that my civil rights and freedom are fully protected and in no way jeopardised because i have married a Pakistani national.  I can work, live and serve my nation without any fear or reservations as guaranteed in my constitution ".

I have strong faith that my nation will protect and uphold my rights.

Thank you very much. God bless.

A person has the right towards action alone and not towards the fruit of action. Let not the fruit of action be the motive for acting. Also, Let there not be any attachment to inaction.
