We can see that the Ronald Reagan's legacy in drug policy "the drug war" has never been successful. Billions of dollars are spent every year to keep minor offenses and/or less than one gram possession offenses behind bars and from that time we the tax payers have been suffering under this unsuccessful war that has had this great society effect and the money spent could be used for much greater use than that. See the war on marijuana seemed like a classic example of that national tendency. So the question that I address myself to in the articles I've written is how does society come to punish a person more harshly for selling marijuana than for killing somebody with a gun? Under federal law, you can get the death sentence for a first-time marijuana offense even if there's no violence involved. Anyone who's caught with 60,000 plants, which seems like a lot of pot, but if you're the person driving the truck for that conspiracy you may not be the kingpin can be given the death sentence under federal law. Now what sense does it make?

Let's talk about cigarettes and alcohol don't cigarettes cause cancer? Cigarette smoking is the most important preventable cause of premature death in the United States. It accounts for more than 440,000 of the more than 2.4 million annual deaths. and don't alcohol kills over 50k yearly in Alcohol Fatalities  and Alcohol-Related Fatalities,  now please answer me why is Medical marijuana still illegal while the bad drugs are the one killing the American people???????????????? You never heard of medical cigarette that decreases pains and helps AIDS and so on and on.

US could have made already so far in the very first month with all the tax payers over 3 billion dollars but because its not legal we lost a billion so far and keeping minor offenses behind bars. Lets not forget the money we are losing and the violence by Mexican cartels which are treating our borders and its all because a plant that grows on the ground. Lets stop sending money to the drug cartel in Mexico, lets tax it here in the US so we can use the money for govt programs to benefit Americans, programs to increase education or help science in the search for cure of diseases.

Could we learn something with Amsterdam? The Netherlands has extensive demand reduction programs, reaching about 90 per cent of the country 25,000 to 28,000 hard drug users. The number of hard drug addicts has stabilized in the past few years and their average age has risen to 38. The number of drug-related deaths in the country remains the lowest in Europe.

Lets remember that Marijuana are sold legally in coffee shops in Amsterdam and just this simple thing reduced greatly the use of another chemically hardcore drug. I am a California medical marijuana patient living in the most stuck-up state in the country the state that prefer to live in its farm conservative ideologies than develop itself into a era of changes, new conceptions and new truths.

This barrier needs to be broken in order to for us to reach a new point of balance and understand and keep growing in this journey of knowledge

LEGALIZE IT.
Reason is the capacity only granted to human beings, I hope to be able to make Texas politicians see that for 70 years US had lost several billions of dollars that could be used to help us or to help the country grow but instead its been used in a war which is impossible to win. For as long there is a demand for any type of drug people will do anything to get it, so the intelligence here would be regulate it and tax it. But for one more time lets remember that we are talking about a plant which there is no chemical process to make it ready, lets remember too that in 10000 years there has not even one case of death by Marijuana know to us while Alcohol abuse kills 75,000 Americans each year. Now going back in the beginning of this letter to the part we were supposed to use our reason: 10k years no death by Marijuana, alcohol one year 75k deaths, Cigarettes--Tobacco use is the leading preventable cause of disease, disability, and death in the United States. Between 1964 and 2004, cigarette smoking caused an estimated 12 million deaths, including 4.1 million deaths from cancer, 5.5 million deaths from cardiovascular diseases, 1.1 million deaths from respiratory diseases, and 94,000 infant deaths related to mothers smoking during pregnancy. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), cigarette smoking results in more than 400,000 premature deaths in the United States each year%u2014about 1 in every 5 U.S. deaths. Does it sound like we are using our reason? I hope Texas politicians are able to see and use their reason and Make medical marijuana available to patients in need not make out of innocent people criminals and spend billions of dollars to incarcerate people for joints. The ones that should be behind bars are the cigarette companies killing people slowly. That's a slow cruel premeditated homicidium which there's no justice for, they are getting away with slowly poisoning and killing people right under our noses. And something that could help us is illegal?

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Albert Einstein

Please lets use our GOD given reason and see that what was done for 70 years was nothing but a terrible disgraceful waste of time, money and brains.

Legalize it.
