Nationwide Strike to Stop Government Health/Spending

We the undersigned agree that Washington is not listening. Not enough people in Congress are listening. They are currently working on a Public Health Care Plan (read, GOVERNMENT HEALTH CARE). Instead of working on reducing spending or bringing down the costs of health care or even a targeted plan to cover those that are currently not covered. They want the whole enchilada. Even though there is no way to pay for their plan, private plans could not compete because they would be forced to provide care to everyone regardless of costs or preexisting conditions and based on the governments dictation of standards. The government can afford to let their health care plan go billions of dollars in the hole (just look at social security and Medicare), but private insurance can't run business that way, no one can run business that way. Employers will dump their employees into the Government plan in order to escape the rising costs insurance companies would have to pay. Those seeking insurance would choose the cheaper Government plan. Private plans would go out of business, and then we are left with the Single Payer System (read, your taxes are going sky high). This is the real goal. Do not be fooled. Many of those in office now have said the very thing in previous years. The Government wants to run the financial systems, giving more power to the Federal Reserve to control business' and the banks, the government now owns my house because they bailed out companies "too big to fail" like Citibank. Check your credit report, mine now says that Fannie Mae owns my house. They wouldn't let GM go bankrupt so they could bail out another company that was "too big to fail". Can't we just call this what it is? This is Government infusion of OUR blood sweat tears and time away from our kid (read, our money) so that they can get control of all sectors including the auto industry and dictate what they will make and control larger and larger portions of our money. They fired a GM CEO for heaven's sake! Then GM went through bankruptcy anyway, but this time guess who structured the deal? You guessed it, the Government. Who broke our laws and put the secured bond holders last to receive their money back at .29 cents on the dollar and put their Union buddies first in line to get paid back at .49 cents on the dollar or better. This is against our laws and now you can bet contracts in this country mean nothing. The Government will step in and re-write history when ever it means benefits for friends, which equals an even more secure future for them.

We HAVE to do more to stop this madness. We have to stand up against this Government; Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, it doesn't matter because NONE of them are listening and NONE of them are doing the work of the people. Our Republic is just about gone. Do you remember what that is? That's Government for the people, by the people. The only way I can think to really make them stop and take notice is a Nationwide Strike. My proposal is to coordinate a strike for 5 business days after the 4th of July Tea Party demonstrations the 6th-10th Can we turn it around that quick? That would mean that we would buy nothing unless it was an emergency purchase for 5 days. No groceries, no gas, no clothes, no latte's beer, wine, no nothing. This will take a bit of coordination, money, food and gas on hand for that amount of time. But what else can we do? We have to have a protest that will show them we mean business, we have to agree that we are not going to fund this nightmare. Just as a reminder, I've included a list below of some of things the new Administration has done or is trying to do in the first 6 months. They HAVE to do all this before the 2010 elections or their agenda won't get passed. Will we even be able to get fair elections in 2010? We keep thinking in terms of the past, but this is a whole new ballgame. We can't guarantee that a fair election will even be possible with organization like Acorn now calling themselves COY, getting billions of dollars in taxpayer monies in addition to monies on the closing of every house in American. How is that possible?????

1. Closed Gitmo with no plan. Moved Terrorists to Bermuda and other locations without telling the British. Read them Miranda rights, so now if they get a appeal and get off, there free to roam in our Country. Doesn't it seem that our Government is more concerned with the rights of terrorists rather than the rights and safety of the people?

2. Published our information gathering tactics, such as water boarding, hardly torture when you consider what John McCain and other prisoners of war endured. Again, sacrificing our security.

3. Apology tour around the World where he talked bad about America....AMERICA and called us arrogant.

4. 17 Czars! 17! All with huge budgets and absolutely no oversight by the legislative and judicial branch. How is this even legal?

5. Spending, Spending and more spending. How is this a economic philosophy? It has never worked but yet I hear people on T.V. saying that "spending is the way to get out of debt". Am I crazy? Has that ever worked in your household?

6. Calling for a Public health care plan when Medicare and Social Security are un-funded to the tune of about 99 Trillion dollars. So we can't afford to cover Social Security and Medicare and we're going to add Government run Health care to this mix. How much of your tax money do you think it will take to cover that? Here's a clue...more than any of us have.

7. The Government wants to add additional powers to the Fed. We can't see their books. This is crazy. They have been the cause of every bubble and yet we are giving them more power to 'protect' the economy?

8. President Obama fired an Inspector General because he was investigating the Major of San Francisco and good friend of his who had been found guilty of mishandling funds from Americorp, another community organization. Oh yeah, President Obama was the sponsor of the bill that made it illegal to fire an inspector General unless 30 days notice and a reason was given to Congress in 2008. So he's not only breaking our laws, and the Government is not only trampling and flat out ignoring the Constitution, He is even breaking his own laws.

9. Acorn, who have conveniently changed their name to COY due to so much bad press, as predicted, has 270 organizations tied to it. It gets billions in Government Funds as well as money from the closing of every home in America to do with what it pleases. We don't know because it's books are private. Even though one of the main guys, Dale Rathke embezzled 1 million from the company. I wonder if Acorn/Coy knows that they were required by the IRS to report that money to Dale as income, even if someone else paid it back for him? I wonder if that ever happened? Acorn/Coy should be under investigation by everyone, including the IRS for not reporting income to Dale. But when the issue came in a amendment to a bill the house voted when very few members were present. You see they told every one to go home, they would vote tomorrow, but then they decided to take a vote after many had left and so you see, that never passed.

10. Government wants to pass Cap and Trade. This will be a huge expense to companies, but don't worry, they'll pass that on to you too. But GE, who stands to gain huge from both the Government run health care and Cap and Trade will be very pleased. In fact, they will probably be part of the Government soon.

11. All the while, we have enough oil in this country to fuel us for generations and we can't get any of it. We have to buy our oil from foreign sources.

12. Didn't stand up in a timely fashion for a freedom movement in Iran. Don't you get the feeling that he doesn't care about their freedoms... or ours? If he was really for freedom, why would he be taking ours away so swiftly? How can he stand with Iran for freedom when at home he is tearing ours down? Those views are diametrically opposed. I guess people just don't want to believe that his radical views and radical friends, i.e. Bill Ayers can be veiled so easily to those who don't want to believe what is really happening. They are comforted by his words which are the exact opposite of his actions. When it doubt, trust the latter.

13. Oh yeah, who could forget that today marks the day when journalism showed its true colors in more vivid detail than ever before. Today ABC will turn programming over to the Government so that it can run a day long propaganda ad where it will tell you how wonderful Government run health care will be. They won't tell you any of the details, like how it will make private insurance fail or how their other two Government programs, i.e. Ponzi schemes, are 99 trillion dollars un-funded. Because if they told you the truth, you'd never agree to it.

People, Americans, if you love your Country, if you believe that those who fought and died for our freedoms over these past 230 years did so for a great cause. If you understand that we have been asleep too long and let corruption go unpunished. If you are losing sleep because of the worry that this runaway Government is causing. If you want the same freedom for your kids that you had as a child and you don't want your children and grandchildren to be saddled with debt and much worse. Then you must stand. Pass this on. Talk to your friends. Make sure they are aware of what is happening. Listen to the real news and stay informed. This is not the time to relax and wait for someone else to take care of it. It is now up to us to clean this mess up. We have to stop Government run health care and demand they cut spending and get this problem under control. We have to get back to conservative values, the beliefs of our founding fathers, that we are endowed with rights by our creator, that means freedom. Do you value it? Freedoms are easily lost and hard won. Look at Iran. They are so far from freedom, is that where we are headed? If you agree with this letter and you've been wanting to do something to show how you feel but didn't know what. If you that freedom is worth dying for, then certainly it's worth striking and standing up to be heard. If you agree that we need to strike to show Washington we're not going to fund this un-fundable nightmare any longer, then sign this petition, commit to go on strike. We will not work so that Government can take our money and pay for programs we don't want and don't make sense.
