Stop all murders by the government - end capital punishment

The old testament says no killing.  Is there any way to neutralize bad people without killing them; say, like, life imprisonment?


We should be on to the new testament by now.  Are we remedial?

I understand the circumstances around wanting to end "lives" but would it be possible not to have capital punishment murders just to be the bigger "government?"


Life imprisonment is pretty expensive but maybe we should keep reminders of human trash around as a challenge and a testimony of what capitalism and moving too fast can do.
