My mother and dog were murdered by her boyfriend at the time. He slaughtered them with a hammer 2 days after her birthday (which was on Halloween also the day my sister's funeral was in 1991. He dragged their bodies from the living room to the end of her bedroom and covered their bodies with her comforter. He drove her car around until the police finally found it in whitmore, ca. Rather than him getting a mruder charge he took a plea deal and served 14 years because apparently this was a crime of passion so they charged him with manslaughter. He is out already just enjoying his freedom.
