Demand that Premier John Horgan review the unseemly approach of BC Hydro agents when dealing with customers

BC Hydro's agents are very disobliging and use a distressing approach when dealing with customers.


The agents, it would appear are only interested in obtaining money; they harass, threaten, bully customers. There is no recourse other than pay their unconscionable high hydro rates. Should the customer be in a dire financial situation, they will disconnect the customer's hydro; or tell you to go to the Food Bank, and use the money saved to pay your bill.

Their billing system also takes, Rate Rider, an additional 5% + GST as insurance for them. Unconscionable, as the 5% is not a service, it is simply BC Hydro gouging the customers yet again.

Their old billing system, 10 years old, was faulty, inadequate, and inconsistent. They have a new system, but don't know if it is up to standards of other financial institutions.

It would be a relief that BC Hydro has no legal approval to disconnect hydro as it is a necessity of life, not a luxury. In addition, that BC Hydro's price increases be submitted for approval to higher authorities, i.e., Premier, Committee, etc., that will undertake to ensure that the increase is truly justified.
