We, the Case Aides of Ramsey County Public Health, have submitted a proposal to Human Resources to reclassify each Case Aide 1/2 to the Case Aide 3. Since the initiation of MnChoices Intake, the workloads and expectations have greatly increased. The level of knowledge and skills have greatly increased in addition to the expectations set forth. Therefore, we have submitted the request to be reclassified into a position that we are qualified and are currently working in. "This is the advanced specialist level in this classification series. It differs from Case Aide 2 primarily in that Case Aide 3’s are responsible for making subjective judgements about the type and level of service appropriate for client needs" (Case Aide 3 Job Description). Per the County core values, "Supportive Work Environment: Our work environment values employees, supports collaboration, encourages initiative, creates leaders, and rewards effort and contribution." We would like the same opportunity to advance in our careers that most other job classes within the county already have. This will foster career growth, retain valued employees, and support the clients in need of services.
