Lower Out of Pocket Costs Charged by Insurance Companies for Substance Abuse Treatment

With the addiction epidemic ravaging this country, we need treatment to be available to everyone. Unfortunately, insurance companies are raising their out of pocket costs for those who need treatment for addiction and alcoholism, making it impossible for most people to afford. What is the point of paying for an insurance plan if they make it impossible to use? This is not only preventing people from getting the treatment they need, but it is also making it difficult for treatment centers to keep their doors open. In turn, this will make the epidemic worse and worse. We need a change! We need our insurance companies to treat addiction as the disease that it is. We need our insurance companies to have our backs too! Too many people are losing their battle to addiction because the help they need is no longer possible to obtain. We must band together and demand that these out of pocket costs for treatment are lowered!
