If you keep a few everyday items in your vehicle, you can help get these lost animals home safely. Items that are helpful in these situations include:
— an animal first aid kit
— a water bowl and water
— a heavy blanket
— an animal carrier or cardboard box
— strong smelling foods (e.g. - dried liver, canned tuna, etc.)
— store in your cell phone the phone numbers for the local animal control, an animal shelter, and a 24-hour emergency veterinary clinic
Having these items in your vehicle, and being willing to take the time to use them can be lifesavers for these animals. If your pet was lost, wouldn't you want someone to help your pet?
