MTV Play More Heavy Metal Music

When MTV started back in August 1, 1981. Iron Maiden's self titled song was the 16th video to EVER be played on MTV. It was also the first ever heavy metal video played on the station. Heavy Metal is an important part of MTV's past. Less than 7 years after the creation of MTV an important show to the Heavy Metal community called "Headbanger's Ball" premiered on April 18, 1987. Heavy Metal has been with MTV and helped MTV thrive as a channel just as much as MTV has helped Heavy Metal reach so many people and gain the devoted and passionate fanbase it has today.

To not play Heavy Metal at all on MTV is to forget an important part of MTVs past. It has been with the station since the beginning and lately MTV has abandoned a genre that has stuck by the station throughout the years.

Show MTV what a devoted, loyal, and passionate fanbase Heavy Metal music has, Help them remember a genre they once embraced.....Sign the Petition and Share It With Your Friends.
