Emotional Support Animals Are Service Animals Too

I believe that the definition the ADA provides for service animals discriminates against those who have mental disabilities such as OCD. In my case I have OCD with an Adjustment disorder with anxiety. I would have panic attacks frequently until I got my dog. She wasn't trained to perform any specific task she simply provided a stable emotional relationship which lowered the rate in which I had panic attacks. I believe that this constitutes as a Service animal and because it is not defined as such I have been denied the ability to bring her with me to my college where my stress and anxiety attacks have now increase yet again. I have already written a letter directly to the ADA addressing my situation and concerns. I do not believe that every animal is an ESA. I believe an ESA should be more strictly defined as an animal that provides emotional stability to one with an unstable emotional disorder, not just a comfort animal. I would then like to propose this petition so that I may make people aware of the discriminations occurring in the world around them and to hopefully convince to ADA to revise their definitions accordingly.
