Investigate Police Brutality at Occupy Riverside
At an Occupy protest at University of California Riverside, police officers shot "paint-pellet guns" into the crowd of students without warning and shoved students with batons. Even as the crowd began to move away, one of the peaceful protesters was seized by three police, who beat him before dragging him away by his ankles and arresting him.
Students have the right to peacefully assemble and air their concerns without fear of being brutally beaten, shot at, or otherwise injured, harassed, or bullied. The actions of police at the UC Riverside protest are unacceptable.
Act now to tell Riverside Police to investigate and discipline the officers responsible for the beating of students at UC Riverside and to denounce the use of violent force against nonviolent protestors.
