Couy Griffin is an Otero County Commissioner who founded the group Cowboys for Trump in New Mexico. His public racist statements which he posted in a social media video calling for some Black athletes to "go back to Africa" has no place coming from a public officer. The United States has evolved with the years to move away from racism towards tolerance and equality, and I call on public support to denounce Couy Griffin's statements and call for his resignation. Speaking up for racial justice is the epitome of building up our country towards its most worthy ideals, those who espouse racism and hatred are acting against those ideals.
