The Dual Shock 4 light bar is an insult to eyesight. Owners of Playstation 4 must be allowed to turn off this seemingly Fisher Price-designed "feature."
It makes no sense that players are forced to waste DS4 battery power and reflects horrifically and distractingly on the their TV during gameplay. The player does not look at their own light bar. Other players do not look at others' light bars. Players are watching the TV. Nobody watches or wants the light bar. It will never be needed for games.
Besides being useless, the light bar makes the Dual Shock 4 ugly and bulky. Leave ugliness and bulkiness to Xbox One. It turns off potential customers who aren't as well educated on the console situation as veteran gamers.
Accidental sightings happen, and it gives the viewer, possibly a potential Sony customer, an impression of tackiness and cheapness as if it is aimed at 5 year old kids. It looks like a Nintendo accessory and this will hurt Sony sales.
We do not want Playstation 4 to fail. It is the best console and must remain that way. The DS4 light bar is an impediment to further success.
We request, we beg Sony to
1. Add option of disabling light bar
2. Eventually ship a revised Dual Shock 4 with no light bar
Make it so.
