Livestreaming - Sunshine Coast Regional District

Whereas; The Sunshine Coast Regional District is the central local government for several communities

And whereas: These communities are stretched out all along the south Coast

And whereas; It is common for local governments to live broadcast their proceedings
...
And whereas; The cost of livestreaming and broadcast of meetings is not significant

And whereas; Many residents can access live broadcasts either via the internet of Coast Cable

And whereas: Coast Cable is required by the CRTC to provide local programming and has access to a substantial, subscriber-financed fund for that purpose



We the undersigned request that the Sunshine Coast Regional District:

1. Immediately develop a plan to live stream and broadcast its meetings

2. Include in that plan the archiving of all live broadcasts

3. Develop a strategy to ensure all residents are aware of the initiative and the topics likely to be addressed at each of its meetings.
