For years the organizers of the Meadowlands State Fair in New Jersey have hired companies that exploit and in some cases are known abusers of innocent animals. Commerford and Sons, which operates the elephant rides, has been cited numerous times by the USDA for animal abuse violations and Rosaire's Racing Pigs operates pig races, whereby frightened pigs are raced around a track in front of a screaming crowd.
The Meadowlands State Fair is operated under the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority(NJSEA) which was founded by the NJ State legislature years ago. Let's let the NJSEA know that exploiting animals as "attractions" is wrong. This sends a very bad message to children that attend the fair. Let's make the Meadowlands State Fair completely animal free !
The new CEO of the NJSEA, Mr. Vincent Prieto, is a former NJ State Assemblyman, who supported Nosey's Law last year while still in the Assembly. The fair organizers, once again, failed to cancel any of the animal "attractions" at this year's fair. I will try again next year.

Hi,
Unfortunately the Meadowlands State Fair ignored all requests asking to make the fair animal free. The exploitative and abusive Pig Races and Elephant Rides continue to go on. We are expecting an excessive heat wave here in New Jersey over the next several days. Please call the SPCA TODAY and ask them to put a halt to the races and rides at the fair during this heat wave. Their phone number is (201)573-8900. Tell them that no animal should be forced to perform under these conditions.
