Stand with Chicago Food and Retailers Strike!

Fast food and retail workers are standing up for their rights in Chicago! Hundreds of them protested for wage raises, the right to form a union without punishment, and to be treated with dignity and respect.  It's time for us to join them.

These low-wage workers bring in $4 billion to the stores and restaurants in downtown Chicago alone. But that money goes to line the pockets of executives and investors, even while the workers struggle to afford basic necessities and take care of their families.

Major corporations like Walmart, McDonald's, and others pay their employees the bare minimum, which in Illinois is $8.25. This isn't enough for most city-dwellers to even survive or feed their loved ones, let alone live comfortably.

Stand with the Chicago food and retailers strike and ensure that every worker is making the salary they deserve!

Dear Chicago Companies,

Recently, low-wage workers in Chicago have been protesting, fighting for their rights. They have been striking for fair wages, to be treated with respect and dignity, and to be able to create unions without punishment.

Although these people bring in billions of dollars to the stores and restaurants downtown alone, that money doesn't go back to them, but contributes to the incomes of executives and investors. These people can barely afford what is absolutely necessary or to take care of their families, as they are paid the bare minimum of $8.25 by mega-corporations like Walmart and McDonald's.

It is time for things to change. Please stand with the Chicago food and retailers strike!
