An unidentified Idaho woman is facing backlash for posting a horrendous video of her boxing with her dog. Beating a dog is unacceptable under any circumstances, but filming it for a social media stunt is just heartbreaking. Luckily, it also means we have cold, hard evidence of this person's cruelty. This woman should not be allowed to own a dog and should be charged with animal cruelty to the full extent of the law. Sign on if you agree.
In the video, first posted to Snapchat, the woman hits the german shepherd in the face as hard as she can over and over again. The sweet animal yelps in pain, to which she responds "I hit him so hard I felt that through…" before the clip cuts out. She is using her pet as a living, breathing punching bag and even experiencing joy and excitement over the ordeal.
To show just how little this woman and the people around her care about animals, someone in the background says "We're boxing animals. Where's Sarah McLauchlan".
The local humane society was flooded with calls immediately after and the local authorities were able to identify the woman. The Idaho Humane Society has stated that the case is under review at the local prosecutor's office. But what is there to review? There is a recording posted by the perpetrator herself of obvious animal abuse, a crime that carries a $5,000 fee and up to 6 months in jail in her area.
We, the undersigned, demand this abuser is charged and punished to the full extent of that law. We also demand her dog is taken away from her and rehomed.
