Following a controversy of a restaurant in Mesa, Arizona that serves "Lion Burgers",(ll Vinaio), and more recently, a restaurant in Wichita, Kansas, (Taste and See Restaurant) Chef Jason Febres offered cooked bits and pieces of African lion and called it "the Ultimate Dining Experience event of the year."

We ask the USDA to launch an investigation into the source of that meat. Also of the supposed free range lion farm Fallows Farm in Illinois and of the butcher, Richard Czimer who was convicted in 2003 for selling meat from federally protected tigers and leopards, as he is now offers lions as "Snack Sticks" http://www.czimers.com/specialtymeats.html

Czimer's exotic-meat dealings have landed him in hot water before. Back in 2003, Chicago newspapers covered his conviction and six-month prison sentence for selling meat from federally protected tigers and leopards. Czimer admitted to purchasing the carcasses of 16 tigers, four lions, two mountain lions and one liger -- a tiger-lion hybrid -- which were skinned, butchered and sold as "lion meat," for a profit of more than $38,000.
