Wet markets started the Covid-19 pandemic. The sale of wildlife products such as pangolins, bats, and snakes has caused the pandemic to reach worldwide proportions. If China banned wet markets years ago, none of this would have happened. But the Chinese Communist Party outright refused to ban the wet markets, instead keeping them open, putting us all in jeopardy. As someone who has been impacted by the pandemic, I can tell you that the pandemic has psychologically impacted my family. The pandemic has caused tensions between me and my family members. My father, alone, has been extremely irritable and aggressive, due to the stress the pandemic has put on him and my family. The pandemic will continue to devastate and destabilize families, lead to economic ruin, and kill hundreds of thousands of people a year, as long as wet markets remain open. My question to you is, what is more important, human life, or the survival of ghastly and barbaric wet markets? Thank you.
