To limit the time frame in which Big Box Retailers can push upcoming holidays for corporate gain. Every year the holiday seasons become longer and longer, taking away from the true meanings of these holidays. Before too long no holiday will have a sense of purpose and it will only benefit major corporations selling items that have no value.
