Please let us keep our Chickens and Caravan!

We have been targeted by the SKDC council because of local complaint which is connected with previous harassment / targeting crimes towards us as a family.

Because of this one complaint we have been told by the council that we need to remove our rescued chickens from the garden and to move/get rid of our caravan (non of which we feel are causing any problems to anyone in our local community)

Many individuals we have spoken to have been very supportive, the sheer amount of smiles I've witnessed as people walk past our garden, people stop and chat to our chickens and it's really heart warming! I feel it's really unfair and very non person centred of SKDC to tell us to simply get rid based on one report.

We clean the chickens out EVERYDAY, they are clean and tidy (still got lots to do as only been living here 2 months so still settling in!) All the waste goes to our allotment (in Grantham) and is used as fertilizer for our crops. The chickens are rescued and mean a lot to our children and form a huge part in their education (both children are home schooled) The chickens have not only got us through the testing year we've had but they also feed us giving us lovely fresh eggs everyday.

Some people choose to have Dogs, we chose to have Chickens!

The caravan we have parked at the back of our garden as we felt if it had gone on the road we would have taken valuable parking space, again all villagers we have spoken to have stated that it's not harming anyone or in anyones way!

The Council need to change their outlook,  the focus here has been more about the one negative report which totally disregards the many positives within the community. SKDC made a hasty decision without talking to us first.
