NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A woman was killed and six others were injured, including four children, after two vehicles collided head-on on Clarksville Pike late Saturday night.

Metro police said a Subaru sedan was travelling at “a high rate of speed, passing vehicles by crossing over the double yellow line” when the crash happened at 11:35 p.m. Click here to view photos of the scene.

The Subaru struck an Acura SUV head-on, killing the passenger identified as 29-year-old Stacy Thornton.

Her boyfriend, 29-year-old Lawrence Belt III, who was driving at the time, was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries. An update on his condition was not immediately known.

All four of Belt’s children were in the Acura at the time of the crash. His 10-month-old daughter is in very critical condition at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, while his other three kids, ages 2, 5, and 7, are in stable condition. According to a GoFundMe page set up for Thornton, she is the mother of the two youngest.

Police told News 2 all of the children were properly restrained.

The driver of the Subaru, 20-year-old Carl Dollarhide Jr., was also injured. Metro police said he is in critical but stable condition, also at Vanderbilt’s hospital.

Authorities reported evidence of alcohol was found in Dollarhide’s vehicle. A blood sample was taken to test for drugs and alcohol.

Charges are pending the consultation of the district attorney’s office.
