How could anyone demolish the Masquerade?? It was one of the first concert venues I went to, and the first big one I ever played on stage at. It will forever be close to so many peoples hearts.
Local music is part of Atlanta's local culture , a necessary part. Destroying the masquerade is like poisoning the cultural heart of Atlanta.
The old Dupre Excelsior Mill has been in Atlanta pre 1900. It is a place for music and art to grow, and patrons get a unique show experience that no other venue can compare to.
So you want to destroy something so dear to Atlantans ? For what? condos? Thats just what this city needs...
Atlanta wants tourism to grow, and destroying the Masquerade will make it so a lot of bands no longer come to Atlanta. Bands many still want to see live.
I'm not sure what this will do, but I know I don't want to see the Masquerade torn down ever. So share the word and sign, and maybe something can be done.
