A Safer Subdivision for Our Children

As Heather Glen Subdivision in New Lenox, IL has expanded in the past 5 years, there has been an increase in traffic. With this increase in traffic it has been more and more difficult to provide safe streets for the children of the neighborhood. Cars drive unimpeded for long expanses of road through intersections at higher then appropriate speeds. We understand studies have been done to determine the right amount of stop signs and where they belong, but ultimately the current situation in Heather Glen is not doing enough. The option of having a police officer constantly patrol the neighborhood would put an undue burden on our great New Lenox Police Department. We as residents of Heather Glen have come together to sign this petition in order to have all intersections installed with all-way stop signs and cross walks. We are signing this petition in the hopes that the village board will take our concerns seriously. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
