We are asking for your urgent help in solving the pollution crisis that we are suffering in the Sacred City of Cusco.
The daily and nightly burning of tires by the brick companies of S. Geronimo is terribly contaminating the air we breathe.
Studies carried out by the Institute of Energy and Atmosphere at the National University of S. Antonio Abad of Cusco show that the air is being contaminated by micro-particles of lead and sulfur exceeding four times the limit of accepted levels of breathable air. This type of material is gravely dangerous to humans, causing cancer and other related diseases.
Inhabitants and tourists of the city are already suffering the consequences in the form of headaches, eye irritation, cough, nasal and throat dryness and so on.
If anyone is familiar with any organization or person who can help us to solve this very serious health problem that affects all of us, please contact us as soon as possible.
