Demand full equality for DC. Stand up for DC Statehood.

The 680,000 people of DC pay taxes, serve our community and deserve full equality. But for over 200 years, Washingtonians have been denied representation in Congress. Congress also has the power to overturn any local DC law. This is taxation without representation, and it's wrong.

When the DC Council passed non-discrimination legislation to protect the LGBTQ community, Congress tried to overturn it. Congress proposed legislation to wipe out DC's gun laws and force it to recognize out-of-state conceal and carry permits. Congress even tried to prohibit the DC government from spending its own local funds on safe abortion services for low-income women. In the latest bout of madness, Congress even tried to tell us what to do with wet wipes.

The people of DC deserve the most basic American rights – a full and equal voice in Congress. Statehood would mean full equality for DC.
