When a Texas hotel cut down trees around their property, they reportedly told guests they would find good homes for the baby birds inhabiting those trees. Instead, horrified guests found about 20 baby birds thrown in a dumpster, crying for food.
When questioned, the MCM Elegante Hotel of Abilene, TX released a statement that the tree company they hired was responsible for disposing of the birds in that manner.
Regardless of whether the birds were a nuisance, it is cruel and negligent to dispose of them in a dumpster, especially after assuring guests that the birds would find good homes. Please sign the petition to urge the MCM Elegante Hotel to publicly apologize for the incident, find legitimate good homes for all surviving birds, and end their relationship with the contractors responsible for trashing the birds.
