First Amendment Rights on Venice Beach Boardwalk
PETITION TO STOP THE LOTTERY ON VENICE BEACH BOARDWALK
First Amendment Rights are under attack by the City of Los Angeles in Venice Beach, California. Spirit of Venice artist/activists are standing up for Free Speech by resisting the PERMIT/LOTTERY SYSTEM imposed on them by the City, in what has traditionally been a First-Come-First-Served-First-Amendment-Protected FREE SPEECH ZONE, on the westside of Venice Boardwalk.
We, the undersigned, do petition the City of Los Angeles to PERMANENTLY REMOVE the ILLEGAL and UNCONSTITUTIONAL PERMIT/LOTTERY SYSTEM used by the City for allocation of "vending" spaces in the 'FREE SPEECH ZONE' on the Westside of Venice Beach Boardwalk, being in direct violation of the First Amendment of the US Constitution that protects OUR individual and collect rights to FREE EXPRESSION without interference or constraint by the government.
