Protect Our Clean Air, Water and Wildlife. Defend The EPA From Trump's Attacks!
Nearly 40 years ago, the bald eagle was in danger of extinction. Habitat destruction, illegal shooting, and the contamination of its food source, largely by the insecticide DDT, decimated the eagle population. Without the actions of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), it's almost certain these majestic animals would not be here today.
EPA plays a critical role in protecting our nation's natural heritage, including our iconic wildlife, clean air and safe waterways. It has implemented some of our nation’s landmark environmental protections including the critical Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act and even saved species from extinction and made habitat cleaner for the animals we love.
But now, the EPA is under attack. Congress is threatening to roll back important EPA protections for clean air and water. Some members are going so far as to seek to eliminate the Agency altogether. At the same time, the Trump administration is restricting the release of agency data, freezing hiring and grants, working to eliminate rules that protect public health and the environment, and calling for substantial cuts to EPA's budget.
It is critical that we speak up now before this administration and extremists in Congress wreak havoc on the EPA and our environment. Dismantling the agency's critical conservation measures would harm people and wildlife for many years to come.

Thanks to EPA actions, once-imperiled species like bald eagles have recovered, people and animals are protected from lead and mercury poisoning, and habitats are better safeguarded against acid raid impacts.
Given this important and ongoing progress, I am alarmed that EPA's policies, funds and very existence are under attack in Congress, while the Agency's scientific integrity and transparency face serious, ongoing threats—including leadership by a fossil fuel industry ally who has questioned the impact of human activity on climate change and advocated for "very aggressive" rollbacks of critical EPA regulations.
As your constituent, I urge you to protect the EPA's programs, funding and scientific integrity. Dismantling the Agency's critical conservation measures would harm people and wildlife now and for many years to come.
