Currently residents residing at St Giles Manor II can not safely access PSTA bus route 74 going south to the Shoppes at Park Place or Walmart unless they cross 4 lanes of traffic on Park Blvd. Many residents utilize walkers, wheelcairs and canes, making this unsafe for them. Since this is a state highway, a crosswalk can not be placed going from one side of 58th Ave to the other side of Park Blvd. We the undersigned would like to petition PTSA to have the current Route 444 expanded from its current location of 94th Ave and 60th Street to come down to 59th St till 77th Ave and turn left and stop at the corner of 77th Ave and 58th St. This change will afford the residents of St Giles Manor II and The Pinellas Park Senior Center patrons a safe southern route to access their medical appointments along the route as well as provide access to to grocers. Currently the route services Crystal Lake Manor, Heatherwood Apartments, St Pete Housing Authority, Mainlands of Tamarac, St Giles Manor 1, and housing along 102nd Avenue. Pinellas Park Senior Center has a wealth of opportunities for seniors to utilize with safe public transportation. St Giles Manor has 93 residents that could safely access the bus at this location, making their task of obtaining safe and reliable transportation easier for them and assist with maintaining an independent lifestyle.
