Help People Like Adrienne Fight Heart Disease and Stroke

When Adrienne Martin first started experiencing numbness in her arms and face, she immediately went to see a doctor. Though initial tests didn't indicate stroke, Adrienne's symptoms continued to worsen. The COVID-19 outbreak swept across the country and across the world, and with the nation on lockdown, Adrienne experienced a stroke.

Her husband recognized the symptoms, and immediately called 911.

Though the science still isn't settled, there are early indications that COVID-19 leads to increased risk of stroke and heart attack. It's more important than ever that we take on this critical health care issue.

Heart attacks and stroke strike suddenly, with no warning. Whether you live or die, the effects can be devastating and change your life forever. For half of all Canadians, it's not a matter of 'if,' but 'when' they will be touched by heart disease, stroke, or vascular dementia.

At Heart & Stroke, we've already identified the most critical issues to solve and are on the verge of scientific breakthroughs.

We rally the best scientific minds around the most critical issues. Our work empowers every hospital, clinic, doctor, nurse, and family in Canada to stop the devastating impacts of heart disease and stroke. But we can't do it alone.

Help us do everything we can for people like Adrienne, especially as the COVID-19 outbreak makes it even more likely that a greater percentage of the population will experience heart disease and stroke. With support from people just like you, Heart & Stroke leads the fight against heart disease and stroke. Join us.
