Support Urgently Needed Aid for Those Displaced By Typhoon Haiyan

Right now, the people of the Philippines are in urgent need of our help. On November 8, the Philippines was struck by Typhoon Haiyan, the world's strongest typhoon of the year and one of the most powerful recorded storms in history. Officials have reported that more than 10,000 may have been been killed. Thousands more are feared dead.

10 million Filipinos have been affected by the storm. More than half a million have been displaced from their homes. They are struggling to find their family members among the wreckage, and scrambling for basic needs like food and water. And of course, as in every disaster, children are the most vulnerable.

UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund has been on the ground in the Philippines since 1948. Right now, UNICEF experts are moving across the Philippines trying to get aid to the children and families who need it most. From its emergency warehouse in Copenhagen, UNICEF Supply Division is airlifting water purification tablets, medical kits, tarps, and nutrition supplements -- critical lifesaving goods to protect the health and safety of the 4 million children placed at risk by the storm.

In the face of disasters like this, it's vital that we work together to show our solidarity and get those affected the help they need. It's time to act quickly to ensure those affected by Typhoon Haiyan quickly receive essential medicine, nutrition and safe water.
