Protect Fitzgerald Marine Reserve
Tomorrow, California's Fish and Game Commission will vote on a plan (officially called the "Integrated Preferred Alternative") recommending 18 protected areas along the North Central Coast. It would fully protect wildlife in 11% of the region's waters.
However, commercial fishermen are urging the state to cut ocean protections in the plan, in part by shrinking the size of Fitzgerald Marine Reserve in San Mateo County even more than initially proposed.
Sign now to tell the Fish & Game Commission to approve the recommended plan with no further cuts.
