96% of of U.S. residents now live in counties that experienced a climate disaster in the last 15 years. Millions have been displaced. We are all just one disaster away from becoming disaster survivors.
That's why we created REBUILD.US.
REBUILD.US is a new disaster rapid-response organization designed by and for disaster survivors. When disaster strikes, we move money quickly to local groups for care and relief.
But when the cameras go home, we stay and organize for the long term.
Because as disaster survivors know, surviving is just the beginning.
In the aftermath of tragedy, insurance delays, burdensome paperwork, and red tape leave many families still struggling months and even years later. Some survivors call it "the storm after the storm."
In one year, we've moved over $12 million to provide immediate relief and support. We're building a system that moves at the speed of crisis, not bureaucracy – and we're just getting started. Soon, we will launch the disaster survivors' association to win a full and fair recovery for all.
