This petition is important to raise public awareness, and prevent the aggressive land buy-out program enforced by SKA and the South African government. A more appropriate site, such as a remote desert, must be chosen where human activities are not affected, well before further costs (billions of Dollars/Euros) are incurred. see www.savethekaroo.com

SKA SA, Square Kilomter Array radio astronomy program unfolding in the central Karoo area, is threatening inhabitants, their future and also the environment. Initially SKA promised the area would flourish due to its presence. But now many landowners are being pushed out of the area and other agricultural and related businesses are to be compromised for generations to come.
